About this product

Velvet Scrunchies

Velvet holds. The pile catches gently on itself and on the hair, so a velvet scrunchie stays in thick, heavy or freshly washed hair that a satin one slides straight out of. For a lot of customers it is the only format that actually works.

It is also a pile fabric, which means it has a nap — the pile lies in a direction, and pieces cut with the nap running opposite ways reflect light differently and look like two different shades of the same colour. Controlling nap direction across a run costs fabric, and it is why a cheap velvet range looks patchy in a photograph.

Velvet is a seasonal fabric commercially, so we will ask about your range dates before quoting; it sells hard in autumn and winter and slowly the rest of the year.

FAQ

Velvet Scrunchies: quick answers

What is the minimum order for velvet scrunchies?
Minimum order is just 12 — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my order arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and the finished order ships in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available for tight dates.
Why does our velvet range look patchy?
The pile is running in different directions on different pieces. Velvet is a nap fabric, so two pieces cut opposite ways reflect light differently and read as two shades. Laying every piece the same way uses more fabric, which is exactly why it gets skipped on a cheap run.
Is velvet better for thick hair?
Generally yes. The pile grips, so it stays put in heavy or freshly washed hair that a satin scrunchie slides out of. If your customers keep telling you the scrunchie falls out, velvet is the first thing to try.
